Rachel’s artistic education began at Bournville school of Art, followed by a degree in fine art at Norwich School of art, graduating in 1980. After further study, she qualified as a restorer of wall paintings. Following this, she worked with a team for a year on the restoration of Brighton’s Royal Pavilion, then for another seven years conserving ecclesiastical frescoes and other wall paintings.
However, the urge to create new artworks became irresistible, so she went home to the studio and bought a puppy. The little dog inspired her to make sculpture, and the idea grew and blossomed, surprising her with success.
Rachel exhibits widely and her work is held in many private and public collections, she was made an RBSA (The Royal Birmingham Society of Artists) in 2008
