These models of 19th century working sailing craft – once a common sight on the Southwest coast and the Bristol Channel until the 1930s – are the result of sailor, author and journalist Tony James’s fascination with the history of the West country’s largely forgotten coastal merchant fleet which depended entirely on wind and tide to make a living from the sea.
